Description: Friday October 16, 2009...PEI Rocket hosted the Moncton Wildcats at "Paint the Rink Pink" night. This was a fundraiser and was a way to raise awareness for the CIBC Run For The Cure for breast cancer research. The fans were all asked to wear pink to the game and "paint the rink pink". The Rocket had special uniforms for the night. The new jerseys had the color pink where they would normally be red and looked pretty sharp. They also had a pink band on their socks where there is usually a red band. Each paid ticket had $5 donated to the CIBC Run for the Cure and gave the ticketholder a ticket in the raffle. During the intermission, a draw was held and 25 winners each got one of the special "pink" sweaters being worn by the Rocket players during the game. I wanted SOOO BADLY to win one for Sara Jane. She LOVES pink and she LOVES the Rocket! Unfortunately, I wasn't drawn from the box..and didn't win one. I wasn't the only loser..the Rocket lost 4-0 in a very lackluster effort.
